Review : Buon appetito! At The Cousins Restaurant

A few weeks ago we celebrated a Birthday at The Cousins with a few close friends.

If you are looking for a restaurant in Cape Town that is all about good food - then The Cousins Restaurant is the place to go. This culinary institution is based in Barrack Street in the Cape Town CBD.

As the name suggests the establishment is owned by cousins and this adds to the feeling of being family, from the moment you are greeted at the door by heavenly aromas to the friendly banter with the waitrons and manager.

Just because it’s an Italian restaurant don’t expect the run-of-the-mill pizza and kinds of pasta. The menu is vast with a variety of dishes to tantalize your tastebuds. Everything from steaks to seafood to salad is on the menu and served with a unique flair!

The menu is filled with dishes that the recipe has been passed down to each generation

Now be warned the servings are generous. Starters are made to be shared and the main courses are on the large side ( you seriously get your money's worth)

The Cousins is is famous for thier special pasta they make in the big wheel of cheese ( btw this is awesome ) Our table opted for a variety of starters and shared mains.

Good to know tips:

- Reservation is advisable is a large table. - Tables 10 or more require a deposit. - No corkage on large tables. -Let the restaurant know if you are having a leisurely dinner or need a quick bite to eat as you are heading to the theatre. - Uber/ getting a taxi is best as parking is minimal.

-The wine list is compact with local favorites and some important wines.

We had a great time . There were no complaints from a table of 12 dinners .

We will definitely visit again.
