Cheers to choice with Leopard's Leap - Natura Wine Range
Never fear if you are a wine lover in South Africa. Leopards Leap has a de-alcoholised range called the Natura Range. The Leopard’s leap Natura Range Consists of a Classic White and a Classic Red.
Retail Price : R60.00 (750ml) Bottle
The wines in the Natura range have been de-alcoholised. Which means they have had most of the alcohol removed. Alcohol per bottle is less than 0.5%. It is also lower in calories than its more alcoholic counterparts.
At 0.5% alcohol volume this wine contains the same amount as alcohol as commercially sold Kombucha tea ( home-brews could contain more alcohol depending on how it is prepared).
Leopard’s Leap gives wine lovers a delightful alternative for adding quality to life during those occasions or in those moments where alcohol can or should not be consumed. Versatile, health-conscious, and delicious, Natura is ideal for a responsible, everyday quality lifestyle.
Im still sceptical of low alcohol wines and de-alcoholised wines. They do not taste the same as wine with alcohol but it's getting close and I like that Wine Producers have taken note that there is a need for this product. I like to cook and make desserts from low alcohol wines. This way I don’t have to create two dishes, one for the adults and one for the children and Pregnant fairies.
I like that the consumer has a choice and there are actually viable options available for whatever your reason is that you are not drinking alcohol : pregnancy, health issues, calorie-controlled diet, or trying to live a healthier lifestyle. #CheerstoChoice!
Oh baby Its cold outside! Cooking with Leopard’s Leap Natural Classic Red.
Leopard’s Leap recently sent me a red and a white from the Natura range to taste.
I decided to make a non-traditional Glühwein from the Classic Red. It was freezing the other night. This warm and spicy drink really was such a luxury and I could drink it on a school night! This recipe was sent to me by Leopard’s Leap.
Sugar and Spice and all things nice:
Ingredients:
1 Bottle Leopard’s leap Natura De-alcoholised Classic Red
1 litre apple juice
2 sticks cinnamon
8 whole cloves
3 star anise
Zest of 1 orange, plus juice of the orange
4 thin slices of ginger.
Method
Combine all ingredients in a large pot
Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes
Let cool slightly, remove spices and serve warm
Sit back and relax while drinking your Spiced wine. Grab a good book and a blanket.
Kitchen hacks:
Don’t have apple juice? You can dissolve 2 cups of sugar in 1 litre of water .
Place the cloves into a halved orange. This way you don’t have to fish out spices from the mixture.
