Now, who does not enjoy a Birthday party? Are you looking for a different and unique venue for your child’s Birthday party? I have a list of 7 great venues, activities, and ideas.
We are so lucky to live in the beautiful city of Cape Town. There is so much to do and see, why not explore it with your friends?
Take the stress out of catering for a large crowd, making decorations, and the dreaded clean-up afterward – move the party to another venue. Very few of us have large homes anymore, where you can fit 50 people into your garden and have a garden party.
With a party that is held at another venue, it helps to keep the guest list small.
Em is now 5 years old. Emily and her friends are incredibly busy. They want to learn new skills and be busy. Memories are more important than gifts. So, I have put a list together of some fun ideas.
Here is my list of 7 fun and exciting adventurous party ideas for children.
1. Get your Surf on and hit the beach with Gary’s Surf school.
Gary’s Surf School in Muizenberg is a Cape Town institution. It is South Africa’s original surf school, founded in 1989.
Gary’s is based at Muizenberg beach but they have a mobile unit, so you can learn to surf anywhere in Cape Town (as long as there are waves)
A Surf party is a wonderful idea for active children and teens. Learn to surf or hone your surf skills, while enjoying the sun and surf.

The instructor teaches you the basics of surfing, how to paddle, get up on the board, and then hit the waves.

2. Horse and Pony Rides
Saddle up for the main event with pony rides or a horse trail (for the older kids and teens)
I was horse obsessed when I was a child and tween. Why not spend a day at a stable and learn about horses and how to ride a horse. Get the children to learn to brush, feed and take care of the horses.

3. Bike park/ pump track
Get the blood pumping and some exercise with a Mountain Bike Party at BIOSport.
BIOSport is situated on the Bloemendal wine estate in the Durbanville Hills area., it’s the perfect venue for children and teens.
Bloemendal has great mountain biking trails and a kiddie's pump track for those still on push/ balance bikes. It’s a wonderful ay out for the family and for the children.
Day Permits: Each rider will have to purchase a day permit. Kids -R40 and adults – R60. This gives you access to the mountain biking paths on the farm and neighboring farms.
There is a coffee shop on site that sells snacks and some drinks. No outside food and drinks are allowed on the premises.

4. Experience the wonderful world of Wonderdal
Wonderdal is situated on the Hazendal wine estate near Stellenbosch. It is an edutainment center catering to ages 5-13 years.
It is jam packed full of exciting activities that help grow little minds and strengthen bodies.
Climbing walls, Obstacle courses, reading nooks, puzzles and Tinker Workshop. The children will be kept busy for hours in a safe environment.
